Major Russian Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in providing protection systems and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

He said that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

The strikes succeed nights of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

He said utility staff and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
